It's always fun when my aunt and I get together. We tend to go on random adventures and have all kinds of random conversations, and this time was no different. We had spent the afternoon talking, and decided to go grab some dinner to bring back to the house. She had just gotten off the phone with her husband, who is a local police officer. We thought it would be a good idea, while we were out, to go visit him. She knew where he normally parked, so we headed in that direction. We were stopped at a light, when I saw him drive past in his suburban. When the light changed, we had lost him, but followed in the general direction we had seen him go. Then, we saw a car that looked like his, headed back in the opposite direction on the next street over. It looked like he was circling around to his normal spot, so we quickly turned and headed over there. We followed his car through the streets, in what was not the best neighborhood, finally following him all the way back to the station, before we drove past and realized that it was not actually him in the car! We had been following an officer we didn't know, in a bad neighborhood, for no good reason. We both were wondering why he didn't flash his lights when we passed him and ask us what we were doing, and I decided the reason was, "We're two white ladies in a Prius, how much trouble could we be getting into?" This became our running joke for the rest of the afternoon. "2 ladies in a Prius!" My aunt suggested that I take some time this year to write a book, and we thought I could do a whole series about these two ladies in a Prius and the adventures they got into.
